Claire Stewart

I am an Art Psychotherapist with extensive experience working with children, young people, and adults in both one-to-one and group settings. My practice is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique experiences.

I believe creativity can open doors to understanding, healing, and growth. Through artmaking — drawing, painting, clay, collage, or other materials — clients can explore emotions at their own pace in a way that feels safe and supported.

My approach is:

  • Person-centred – led by your needs, interests, and pace

  • Trauma-informed – prioritising safety, choice, and empowerment

  • Integrative – combining art-based exploration with therapeutic conversation

  • Collaborative – working alongside you, not directing or interpreting for you

My aim is to help you develop emotional awareness, resilience, and insight, while offering a space where you can be fully yourself.

What I Offer

Art Psychotherapy for Children & Young People

I provide a supportive environment where younger clients can express feelings through creativity, play, and artmaking. This can be especially helpful for anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, school pressures, and changes at home.

Arts Psychotherapy for Adults

Art therapy can help explore stress, trauma, identity, relationships, burnout, and life transitions. Sessions offer time to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself creatively and emotionally.

Group Offerings

Group sessions offer shared creative space for connection, reflection, and support. These can focus on themes such as confidence, emotional regulation, creative exploration, or wellbeing.

What to Expect

Your first session is an opportunity to talk about your hopes, challenges, and any questions you may have. Together, we plan a supportive therapeutic approach that suits you.

You do not need any previous art experience — the process is about expression, not artistic skill.
